Background

Cyber violence has been a common phenomenon since the emergence of social networks. Many people vent their discontent with the real world on the internet and criticise others at will. Many people become depressed and even commit suicide because of violent internet speech. But many people do not realise they have harmed others significantly. This project aims to stimulate the cyber violence process through an interactive device. Some people can recognise that we should restrain our speech and not harm others.

  • The device simulates the whole process of online comments. It enlarges the seriousness of network violence and arouse people’s awareness of network language friendliness.
  • It takes two seconds for the selected comments to be uploaded in order for the participants to rethink seriously oneself comments.
  • The jet at the top of the device locks the participants and sprays as punishment, which makes people realize they must responsible for what they said.
  • The microexpressions are captured and fed back to the screen outside the device, which allows people to see in real time the emotional impact of language on a stranger.
  • The device is not a one-off device but improves as a private space to vent emotions in the future.
  • Donating money to UNICEF for children’s mental health, as the adolescent is more likely causing cyberbullying.
